About me

I started in drug and alcohol counseling in the late 1980s, at 19. From the beginning I looked for more than the job required: extra supervision, training and workshops, and my own individual and group psychotherapy in several approaches.

In my twenties I directed or coordinated three outpatient and two inpatient programs. For more than 30 years since, I’ve had a private practice in Westlake. Altogether I’ve spent over 60,000 hours with individuals, couples and families.

I’ve been married for more than 25 years and have a daughter. Three words guide how I work and live: be curious, be courageous, be honest.

My methods

My focus is connection and efficiency, so your time with me is meaningful and well spent. I draw on psychodynamic, family systems and cognitive behavioral therapy, tailored to each person. Together we build an honest understanding of what’s causing distress or where you want to grow, and get clear on the steps and support that will bring real change.
